Three Brooks Nature Reserve – Bird Hide & Viewing Pavilion
Commissioned by a local charity, this playful bird hide offers a unique, immersive experience for visitors to the Three Brooks Nature Reserve. Its design includes two separate viewing platforms that frame the landscape and pond, offering close encounters with wildlife.
Clad in natural timber and topped with sculptural copper roofs, the hide’s silhouette takes inspiration from birds in flight. The building sits lightly in the landscape and was crafted with low-impact foundations and locally sourced materials.
The design was showcased at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Show 2021, celebrating its combination of ecological awareness, community engagement, and creative form-making.
